Ellie Kam has built a fast-rising career in American pair skating through discipline, resilience, and a strong partnership with fellow skater Danny O’Shea.
Born in 2004, Kam began skating at age four and first trained as a singles skater before transitioning to pairs.

Ellie Kam’s parents, Mako and Dr. Benjamin “Ben” Kam, shaped both her athletic mindset and personal values.
Her mother, Mako Kam, grew up in Japan near Fujiyoshida at the base of Mount Fuji.
A former competitive runner, Mako came from a family that valued sports and perseverance.
She moved to Colorado Springs as a foreign exchange student and later studied applied mathematics at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
Mako instilled a strong work ethic in her children through a simple family mantra: show up and give your best effort every day.

Mako and Ben met in Colorado Springs in the early 1990s and married in 1995.
